I grew up a competitive synchronized swimmer and water polo player who battled with shoulder pain and injuries through most of my teen years. It was through this experience that I knew I wanted to help athletes and active individuals be able to train, participate in activities they love, and compete!
I graduated from the University of Alberta in 2008 with a Bachelors of Physical Education. I then pursued my passion at Mount Royal University by taking the Advanced Athletic Therapy Certificate and becoming a Certified Athletic Therapist in 2010. I began my career dedicated to varsity athletics working with the University of Alberta Golden Bears Soccer and Football teams, Pandas Field Hockey, as well as hockey within the ACAC league including MacEwan Men's Hockey, Mount Royal Men's Hockey and Nait Ooks Women's Hockey. I spent 6 years with the Edmonton Huskies Junior Football Team, and 3 years working with various sports at a high school level. My love for sports has now found be back on the sidelines of the football field with the Edmonton Storm Women's Tackle Football Team.
Athletic Therapy is not my only passion however, as it is fused with my love for health and fitness. Over the past 10 years I have also been a Certified Personal Trainer and found myself in love with helping others achieve their fitness and health goals. From weight loss and health reasons, to training for half marathons and various sports, I enjoy challenging and motivating individuals who are striving for a goal. As a mother of two young children I have discovered my newest love and passion is pre and postnatal fitness and health. I am excited to work with women to help foster a healthy pregnancy, prepare their bodies for labor and delivery, and help with postpartum recovery. No matter what your activity level or background is, I strive to improve the quality of movement so you can move more and strive to be the best you can be.
