I completed my Advanced certificate in Athletic Therapy at Mount Royal University in Calgary after graduating from Waseda University in Tokyo in 2009 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Science.
I've always been very active and involved in various sports, including swimming, boxing, skiing, and basketball. An avid scuba diver, I spent time throughout my university years travelling in Japan experiencing various diving spots. From this, I enjoyed and wanted to support others who had similar passion and health/fitness goals in common.
I have worked in a multidisciplinary clinic, as well as a variety sports such as volleyball and hockey. I am also presently working in a medical clinic with primary care physicians and orthopedic surgeons as an Injury Care Coordinator. Through this I have grown a great deal in my assessment skills and knowledge through a number of surgical cases, and realized how important an active rehabilitation is for people to get better.
I hold a strong belief that whole body works together; one area affecting another. I take my time to get a thorough history before performing whole body assessments, from various perspectives and using manual therapy to restore better body movements, followed by active rehabilitation to help people achieve their goals.
Some of the techniques I use include`:
- Selective Functional Movement Assessment
- Mulligan Mobilization with Movement
- Muscle Energy Technique
- Graston
- Functional exercise/rehabilitation
- Post ACL reconstruction surgery rehabilitation
