I graduated from Sheridan College with a degree in Athletic Therapy and certified as an Athletic Therapist after graduating from St. Frances Xavier University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Bachelor of Science, Human Nutrition.
While Athletic Therapy is my passion, I find that including nutrition in your recovery and performance will make your fitness goals more attainable. I use nutritional coaching to help support athletic goals for those lifting heavy in the gym, endurance sports such as cycling, marathon running, and triathlons, and even maximizing your micronutrient to play your best on team-based sports. Part of my treatments can includes coaching on nutrition, fitness, and health education programs for athletes, educators, coaches, and sports teams.
Athletic Therapy has given me the opportunity to be involved in high-level sporting environments including Jr. A Hockey teams, Brampton Excelsior’s Jr A Lacrosse, University of Guelph Varsity Rugby and Basketball teams, Canada Rugby Development program, National Toronto Rock Lacrosse team, as well as the Elliot Sports Medical Clinic.
Alongside my position at North Star, I also work in a similar role with the Military forces at Edmonton Garrison Fitness Center, and with the McEwan University Women’s Hockey Team, and I have found that working with both elite athletes and the general public has allowed me to develop skills with treatment programs to restore, maintain and improve physical functioning, alleviate pain, and prevent injuries.
